Tutorial Tuesday – Hoot Hoot Hooray. Today, and for the next few weeks, I am changing my Tuesday post, so instead of Top Tip Tuesday, we have Tutorial Tuesday. Tutorial Tuesday will be a series of videos aimed at introducing paper crafts to new crafters, it will be a real ‘Back to Basics’ series, using products from the Beginner’s Brochure.
Today we are looking at making a basic, single layer, card. I have chosen the Hoot Hoot Horray stamp set. It covers so many occasions and is particularly good to use with children. As we are being asked not to leave home unless it is absolutely ESSENTIAL and to not see Friends or Family we don’t live with. What better way for our children to keep in touch than to make their friends some cards to let them know that they are thinking of them. You can stamp the images for younger children and get them to colour them in, this could even be part of your Home School activities.
In the UK we are permitted (currently!) to go out for one form of exercise each day. I am thinking that these cards could either be dropped in the Post while you are out for your permitted walk, or, if the friends are local, through their letter box.
I am NOT encouraging you to go out more than you should. We are being asked to stay at home to reduce the possibility of spreading this dreadful virus, so please follow your local guidance on this.
I would encourage you to watch today’s video for no other reason than to see me make a classic mistake! I mean a REALLY classic mistake! If you have watched my videos before, you will know that I don’t believe in editing anything out. I think it is important to see that none of us are perfect. This video proves it!
Remember that creativity has been shown to reduce stress levels and generally improve mental health. So get those crafting supplies out and start spreading Kindness, not the Virus!
