Golden Honey and Peaceful Poppies. Today’s card is really quick to put together and introduces a technique that was used at OnStage in Dortmund when this amazing Suite was launched. Stamping on Ribbon. If you were eagle eyed you was me use this on a card last week, but it was this suite that was used for the introduction. The card is quick because it uses elements that are pre-prepared or involve little more than some punching or due cutting.
I keep looking at the Peaceful Poppy Elements and keep not using them, so today I thought I would finally get around to it. For this project I have selected one of the pre-printed elements and one of the vellum elements with a resist finish. I coloured the velum on the reverse in Dark Poppy Parade and Dark Old Olive Blends. Vellum can be difficult to adhere but by adding the adhesive to an area that is then covered with the printed element, there is no need to worry about it showing through.
To highlight the Elements I have die cut a Vellum label and punched Poppy Parade and Basic Black labels to layer up as the backing. Before adding these to the card I stamped the ribbon in Poppy Parade using one of the ink splatter stamps. This gives a great effect and is much softer than either plain white or Poppy Parade would have given.
The Designer Series Paper and Poppy Parade mat were adhered before adding the stamped ribbon. It was then a simple job to layer everything up to make the final card. The only element left was the inside of the card, which has a stamped sentiment in Tuxedo Black. To pull the front and inside together, I stamped the same splatter stamp over the sentiment in 2nd generation Poppy Parade.
