Garden Shed Spotlight Colouring. In the UK we have hit the Spring, or Vernal, Equinox, in the early hours of this morning. But, did you know it is the earliest it has been for well over 100 years? To mark the occasion and to continue my ‘Bright and Cheerful’ card themes, I have pulled the Garden Shed stamp set from the Annual Catalogue.
I love colouring this image in using my Stampin’ Blends, but it can take rather a while, so for the sake of the length of the video, I thought I would try a bit of Spotlight Colouring. Normally this would involve picking out a circle and only colouring within that. But why be normal when I can go ‘off piste!’ The hat hanging by the shed door seemed the perfect thing to colour, and by tying the colour to the card base and Designer Series Paper mat, it works.
The stamp set has some smaller images too, so I chose one of those for the inside of my card, along with the sentiment, which I stamped in Granny Apple Green, again, tying everything together.
In the video I do mention something to AVOID doing, and by mistake, going on to show exactly what I mean. What is that? Well, Memento is the perfect ink to use with Stampin’ Blends, and any other alcohol markers, but you do need to make sure the ink is FULLY dry first. If it is still even slightly damp, the black ink will smudge when you colour near it.
