SAB #SimpleStamping Saturday – Rise & Shine. The weekend has arrived, so it is time for another #SimpleStamping Saturday and as we are still in Sale-a-Bration, I am featuring items from Sale-a-Bration. Today’s project features a stamp set from the 2nd Release, arriving for customers on 3rd March. I have selected the Level 2 stamp set ‘Rise & Shine’.
This set coordinates with the Cup of Cheer dies that have carried over from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue, and I love the simplicity of the set. It is also one of our fantastic Reversible stamp sets, so many of the stamps can be stamped using both the back and the front of the stamp. You have to love that idea.
My #SimpleStamping project is very quick and easy to put together. As ever, it features one of our Note Cards & Envelopes and I have only added some ink. One of my top tips for new stampers is to stamp deliberately crooked. There is nothing more distracting than a stamped image that is very slightly crooked, so you either need to stamp very straight, or very not. I have one for the latter in this sample. I used the Stampin’ Pierce Mat under my card, which I generally don’t do, because it is a very solid image.
The next version introduces patterned paper and some cutting of layers, but I have still employed the ‘make it crooked’ process. This really does make a difference to how you see the final card. As I mentioned, make sure that the angle you choose is very crooked.
The final version introduces the coordinating dies for the stamped images, as well as the Stitched Shape Dies for the patterned paper. I have used some Silver Metallic Thread to represent the steam, which is an easy and inexpensive addition. The mugs and tags have all used the ‘any colour heat embossing’ I featured in my Top Tip Tuesday this week. I added an extra layer of clear embossing to make the images even more shiny. In today’s video I also show the result of adding copper embossing powder over Silver embossing. This is well worth a look.
