SAB #SimpleStamping Saturday – Lovely Lily Pad. How can we already be in February? I am in that strange state when it feels like Christmas was ages ago, but that January has whizzed by. I get the feeling I am not alone either. As we enter February I am also wondering if my ‘gut feeling’ that we were going to have a very cold winter is getting less and less likely. We have had a VERY wet winter so far, with the threat of flooding much earlier in the season than usual. What worries me now is if we get our usual wet February and March, we could well see the road to the next village under water. At least the village will be quite!! But let’s not worry about that. Today is Saturday, so time for another Sale-a-Bration #SimpleStamping Saturday project.
I am using a collection of items from the Sale-a-Bration Catalogue today. To me they make up a mini Suite of products because there is a Stamp Set, Dies AND Designer Series Paper. I am talking about the Lovely Lily Pad items. The Stamps and Paper are both Level 1 Items, with the Dies being a Level 2 item. With this in mind, I used just the stamp set for my Quick and Simple Card, and just 3 ink pads along with my usual Note Cards and Envelopes, today in Whisper White.
I used ‘first’ and ‘second’ generation ink to get the additional shades. Everything is listed below. For a bit of fun, I added some self adhesive sequins too and by doing so, you are almost at the amount you need to get the stamps FREE. Oh, and I did use the sentiment from Peaceful Moments, but I worked on the premise that you might have a set of sentiments already.
To step the project up a little, I introduced the Designer Series Paper. This is a really useful set of papers because one side is a definite pattern, while the other is ‘plain’, being a photograph of acrylic paint. Why I think this is really useful is that it means you can use the ‘B’ side as your plain mat, so no need to add extra card to your stash. All I did was cut the mat the full size and the second layer half the size of one of my standard sized mats, with Whisper White as the other half, ready for stamping. I covered the join with a sliver of the ‘B’ side and popped the sentiment up on a contrasting mat.
My most involved version introduces the dies. The layout is the same as for the previous version, just more of it. The dies are so pretty, I particularly like the border die and have seen some amazing projects using that on its own. I may have to ‘borrow’ that idea. As well as the dies, I introduced some more coloured card and some vellum, both the white and some Petal Pink from the Perennial Essence Suite in the Annual Catalogue. You remember the Annual Catalogue, the one we only seem to have for about 3 months before we get all excited about new products! There are some amazing products in there, and I must start to use them more.
So that is me for another Saturday. I hope you enjoyed your visit today. Remember there is a full video tutorial on my YouTube Channel for the Quick and Simple version, as well as a fuller explanation of the other two versions. Simply click the link here:

Liz, these are lovely cards. I have this “bundle” and now I’m inspired to begin using it. I wasn’t sure how the reversible stamps work. Thanks for your explanation. Enjoy the weekend!
