Pleat Top Gift Bags. The last few weeks have been really quite busy, so designing the projects to share with you has been rather more about getting things done, rather than actual planning. Happily things are a little more organised in my life now, so I can actually do some planning again. I looked back over the past few weeks and there were rather too few 3D projects. So here is a really special one.
Although this looks very special, and potentially difficult to make, please rest assured that it is actually just a basic bag. What makes it look special is the pleating at the top, and this is not difficult.
In truth, what I found hardest, and you will see this in the video, is tying the bow in the ribbon. This is quite and important part of getting the bag right. It is the tension on the ribbon that keeps the pleat in place, so without that, we might as well not bother. Of course, because of this, my hands would not work, and I made a complete mess of the bow on camera. I have more or less sorted this out for the photos, but neither bow is particularly great!
The sentiment is from the So Sentimental Stamp Set, and I actually used the dies from the Bundle as they are perfectly shaped and sized for the sentiments. I used the ‘Any Colour Heat Embossing’ I shared earlier this week in Tip Top Tuesday (click HERE to see that post). Now sit back and watch the madness that is this week’s video. Remember that the measurements are towards the bottom of this post.
Did you enjoy this? I particularly like the Pressed Petals bag. If you are anything like me, I think we keep forgetting about the products in the Annual Catalogue, so I am going to be reminding you of a few items in the coming weeks.
