One Stamp At A Time – Birthday Bonanza. Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop. Today our theme is Birthdays, so I have embraced the Birthday Bonanza Suite of products for my projects for you today.
If I am being totally honest with you, the items I am showing you today were part of a display I did at our Team Training event on Sunday. But on the premise that it is better to work Smarter not Harder, I decided to show them to you as part of the hop today.
The first item I want to talk about is the Birthday Cake. For the display I chose to use a cake form and covered it with Shimmery White Embossing Paste, which is a great alternative to icing if you ever need a display item. The banner is hung from two paper drinking straws and the wrap is simply a length of Designer Series Paper wrapped round the cake and then the critters are stuck to the paper. I couldn’t resist having a couple of Koalas at the top of the banner. They look like they are having a great time up there don’t you think?
I didn’t want the card to be too cutesy, so avoided using the critters on this. I simply die cut a circle from the centre of the patterned paper and reinserted it with the back showing. The sentiment is heat embossed (twice) on Thick Whisper White and layers onto two further layers of the same card. All the layers are punched with the Triple Banner Punch. I have added a few touches of Gold Glimmer Paper as well as some of the Terracotta Tile Scalloped Linen ribbon. As Terracotta Tile was my main colour I also added some of the Faceted Dots as a finishing touch for the outside. The inside was finished with a few balloons using colours from the Designer Series Paper.
I have a few more ideas to share with you using items from this suite. Many of these may be a surprise, so keep checking back over the next few days to see some more ideas. For now, why not click on the link to see how I made the Birthday card?

OOOOOOH! Miss Liz!!! I am IN LOVE with that adorable cake!!! And I also love how you made the card a little more grown up too! 🙂 Fantastic projects! LOVE EM!
That cake! What a fantastic idea. Love the banners so much and all those animals around the cake. It’s all just great!
What a fabulous project and card… absolutely adorable! You rocked it!
I am trying to find the Moose punch by Stampin Up.. I failed to purchase when it was available and of course I was disappointed that it sold out so quickly and wasn’t brought back… 😦 I want that punch so badly and have been searching to find someone that hopefully has one they would part with… any help you can give me would be most appreciated… if they have the stamp too that would be an added bonus.
Thanks for any help you can send my way…
Phyllis
Hi Phyllis. I am afraid I don’t have the punch, but I believe it is coming back next Autumn /Winter. If you can’t wait that long, there are lots of Stampin’ Up! Buying /Selling ground on Facebook where you may find it. Lx
