Inspiring Iris First Signs of Spring. If you follow me on Instagram or Pinterest you may already know that I have started to take classes in Flower arranging. Our tutor is very keen that we should only use flowers and foliage that is in season so we save on Air Miles. I am beginning to be much more aware of where flowers are from and keep my eyes peeled for flowers from the UK. The first Irises were in our local market a couple of weeks ago. The stall holder only ever sells flowers from the UK, so I was thrilled to be able to buy some for the display I was doing at Church.
With this in mind, I thought I would pull the Inspiring Iris set from my stamp shelf and give it another outing. It is another of the Annual Catalogue sets that I think we have forgotten about. It is so pretty and has the added advantage that you don’t have to line the stamps up! In fact you can’t, they aren’t made that way.
I thought I would stamp the scroll on to some of the White Crinkled Seam Binding to see how it looked. I does run a little, but is a great way to use the stamp with some ribbon. I layered it over some Silver Edged Ribbon that I had coloured with the Dark Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blend.
Die cut using the Stitched Nested Labels dies, the card is finished by layering up the mats and then adding a few Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots, also in Pineapple Punch. These add the illusion of the yellow centre to the Irises. Bright and fun, a perfect way to welcome the fist signs of Spring!
