One Stamp At a Time – Purses, Poppies and Paris. Welcome to my website and my project for the One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop. As you may have gathered, our theme today is Purses, Poppies and Paris. So I have covered all 3, but in 2 versions of the same project.

One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop Logo

My purse is a small gift box made in the shape of a Handbag, or Purse depending on where you live. I have made it so it is just the right size to take a bottle of one of my favourite Nail Varnish Brands, Nails.Inc. The finished measurements are 3 x 2-1/2 x 1-1/4″, so is a good size for lots of other small gifts. The measurements and scoring details are at the bottom of this post, so do go and take a look. Whether you use International A4 Card Stock or North American Letter Size card, you can get two of these purses from one sheet of card.

My first version is in Basic Black with Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. The ribbon I used for the handle is no longer available, but it was the Scalloped Edge Ribbon from the Monster Bash Suite in the Autumn Winter Catalogue. If you don’t have that, you could use the satin ribbon from the Annual Catalogue. The tie at the front is the new White Crinkle Seam Binding simply coloured with the Dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blend. The matching tag is simple a piece of Thick Whisper White stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and stamped off Rich Razzleberry. I used the same Rich Razzleberry ribbon for this. While I remember, as I write this post, the Painted Poppies Stamp Set is in Stock in Europe, so if you have been waiting to order yours, just click on the link in the list of products below, and grab yours.

My second version uses the Parisian Blossom Designer Series Paper and Cherry Cobbler Card. In this case, the ribbon was the Petal Pink Metallic Edged Ribbon from the Parisian Blossom Suite. I was initially unsure about using Cherry Cobbler card for this version, but it actually looks really elegant. The Tag is stamped with the Eiffel Tower and Script images from the Parisian Beauty stamp set.

Now why not hop along the rest of the Design Team and see what they have come up with? I know you won’t be disappointed.

Dimensions

Handbag – 7-3/4″ x 5-1/2″ – score long edge at 2-1/2, 3-3/4, 6-1/4 and 6-1/2″. Score short edge at 1-1/4 and 4-1/4″. Score BOTH short edges at 5/8″ from each edge, this score line only needs to be about 1″ long on the end without the narrow score lines and about 1″ PAST the narrow score lines on the other end. These will make it easier to push the top of the box in under the flap.

Tag – 2 x 4″
