Kylie’s International Blog Highlight – Thank You! This evening I am taking part in an International Blog Highlight with Kylie Bertucci the Top Demonstrator in Australia, so this is quite a thrill for me. The Theme we have been set is ‘Thank You’, which I have translated to ‘Merci’ and used the Forever Blossom Bundle and Parisian Dies, which are both part of the Parisian Blossom Suite in the new January/June Mini Catalogue. By taking part in this event I have a chance of winning a PRIZE of taking part in a Blog Hop with Kylie!! This would be such a fantastic start to my 2020! I need lots of people to vote for me if I have a chance of winning, so please consider doing so – details of how later in this post.
I decided to dig out the Heirloom Frames Dies and Embossing Folders from the Annual Catalogue. These create such pretty 3D Frames. You need to die cut your card first and then simply place it in the embossing folder to create the 3D finish. I inked up my embossing folder with a So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker, this is transferred to the card as you emboss. It is such a pretty effect, and so simple.
My largest mat is also in So Saffron, with a Designer Series Paper mat, from the Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper, on top of that. I added the frame by running a thin line of Multi-purpose Liquid Glue around the outside edge of the frame. By not adding adhesive to the inside of the frame meant that I could tuck my die cuts under it.
Having pulled my Stampin’ Write Markers I decided to ink up the stamps with them too. Using the markers means that you can add different colours in different areas of the stamp. Instant colouring! There are a couple of tips I would give you when doing this. First, use the lightest colour first, second is to use the SIDE of the brush tip so you don’t run the risk of damaging it.
I used all the image stamps from the Forever Blossom stamp set and then die cut them with the matching die set. This gave me lots of options for building up my image, layering some dies and tucking others in to five a fuller look. Some of these are adhered with liquid adhesive, some with Dimensionals and a few with both to add dimension. I added some stamped images to the inside of the card too, to tie everything together and add some additional detail.
The finishing touches on the outside of the card are the ‘merci’ die cut in 2 layers of So Saffron and one of Champagne Foil, layered for added dimension, replacing the dot on the ‘i’ with a Champagne Rhinestone. I added a couple more of the Rhinestones around the foliage. The final touch is a tiny bow using the Metallic Edge Petal Pink Ribbon, adhered with a Mini Glue Dot.
