Honey Bee Promotion Concertina Card

Honey Bee Promotion Concertina Card. Welcome to the monthly Stamp N’ Blog Hop. This month’s theme is all about the New January-June 2020 Mini and Sale-a-Bration Catalogues.

You have just arrived from Anastasia Radloff in the USA. You are currently visiting Liz Yuille at Old Stables Crafts in the UK. Thank you for dropping by. If this is your first visit, I hope it will not be your last. As a general rule when I post a new project I also post a YouTube video showing you step by step how to make it. This is the case this time, although I did do slightly more preparation this time than I would usually. So, without further ado, this is my card.
Honey Bee Promotion Concertina Card
I made it with a particular friend in mind. She has just received a promotion and has a Team, so a golden Bee Hive seemed very apt. The Honey Bee Bundle in the new Mini Catalogue is really cute, but what is absolutely wonderful is that, at the moment, you can also get matching Specialty Designer Series Paper, and it is FREE!!!! I know!! Amazing. But what’s the catch, I hear you say. No real catch, all you have to do is select it when you place a qualifying order of at least £45 (before P&P) in my Online Store.Honey Bee Promotion Concertina Card Close UpBack to how to make the card. I have put the metric dimensions at the bottom of this post and will try to add some for those of you in North America as soon as I can. The trick to the card is what you do after you have scored the basic card base and then cut between the extreme score lines. You will find that with the card in landscape, one of the vertical panels on the end will be narrower than the other. This is the FRONT of your card, so put that to the right. Then fold the top and bottom horizontal panels to the back, and leave the middle one as it is. Then just concertina the rest of each of those horizontal bands.

Now you can add the extra panel to the front and all of the mats and layers. They are cut with very narrow margins, but with a basically monochromatic design, I prefer a really narrow margin, just to let the project ‘pop’ a bit more. I strongly recommend looking at the video for the exact placement of the panels. It is not difficult, but it can be confusing with so many of them.
The final touches were to decorate the card. I decided to die cut some of the bees from the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper as part of the decoration. All of the stamping was heat embossed with Gold powder on Basic Black card. When working on any dark cardstock it is really important to use your Embossing Buddy first to ensure you only get powder where you want it. The Word ‘Inspire’ is taken from the Sweet Silhouettes dies, part of the Silhouette Scenes Bundle in the Annual Catalogue. I have also included the Ribbon and Glitter Dots from the Christmas Time is Here Suite, all of which is still available to order.

Big question. Do you like it?? I hope you do, because if you do, the recipient is likely to as well. I know it is a little complex, but hopefully, helped by the YouTube video, you can follow along.
Once again, thank you for visiting my blog today. Please click on the Blog Roll below or the Next Arrow to hop along with the rest of us. Don’t forget when visiting to leave them a little love in the comments box.
