All You Need is Love – Detailed Hearts Die – Three Layered Hearts Cards from One Die Cut. I am thrilled to be joining the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop today. Our Theme is ‘All You Need is Love’ and I have made three cards for this using just one Die Cut (almost!) If you are following the Hop you will probably have joined me from Marita Dreissen in Germany. Welcome to my Blog. If you are a returning viewer, welcome back!
I decided to use the Detailed Hearts Die from the New Mini Catalogue. I suspect that this is going to be sightly overlooked as it is tucked away at the bottom of Page 12. It can be ‘Bundled’ with the Heart to Heart stamp set, although I have not used this in my cards. The cards I have made are fairly Clean and Simple, in that they only use the die cut (other than on the ‘extra’ card, which has a second die cut).
The card I have used for the two main cards is Shimmery White and has gone through a ‘treatment’ to get the final look. I have a video on how to get the effect tomorrow on Top Tip Tuesday. All I will say at this stage is that it is messy and you need to accept that each one will be different. Remember to come back tomorrow for full details. I think you may find some of the process slightly surprising.
I added self-adhesive sheet to the back of the Shimmery White piece (after it was ready to use) and on two pieces of Thick Whisper White. Each piece was run through the die cutter with the Detailed Hearts die. I popped out, but saved, all of the small hearts and then stuck the Whisper White layers of the full die cut together. Once they were in place I added the coloured layer. If you don’t have self adhesive sheets you can add dots of liquid glue to the layers instead.
I added the die cut to a base of Thick Whisper White for my sample, but in the video above, I also added one to a Purple Posy base which brings out the purple shades a bit more. I show the whole process of the construction of the card in today’s video. The other two cards are made from simply adding the left over hearts to a card base. I layered some to add some additional interest. The White hearts on Flirty Flamingo have had Fine Tipped Glue added on top to add a shine. I also added a die cut ‘Amour’ from the Parisian Dies, cut in Real Red and heat embossed twice with Clear Embossing Powder. As I mentioned earlier, how I made the top layer is covered in tomorrow’s video, so get ready to come back tomorrow.
