Top Tip Tuesday No Naked Envelopes Part 1. Did you see yesterday’s project? It was a really Quick and Easy card made using the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper that is available from 3rd January.
I have just about trained myself to stamp on the inside of my cards now, so it is high time I showed you what can be done to envelopes so that the recipient knows immediately that they have got ‘Happy Mail’. Today is the first of a mini series on this topic, so I hope you will enjoy what I will be bringing you.
As you will already have guessed that today I am going to talk about adding Designer Series Paper to either the flap of your envelope, or to the inside, as a liner of sorts. I have decided to cut myself some basic templates to help with this, but you don’t have to. The advantage of having the template is that you can use it on scraps of paper to check if you have sufficient.
Adding the paper, once you have cut it to size, is a simple case of adding adhesive to the paper and adhering it to the envelope. I would suggest using Multi Purpose Liquid Adhesive as it gives you that little bit of ‘wiggle room’ to get everything lined up. For the insert I cut the paper to the size of my template, but for the flap I make sure that the paper is a little larger than the flap so you can cut it down once it is adhered. Cutting it to the actual size will mean you are going to have to wiggle it a lot to get it properly lined up. Save yourself the stress!
I hope you found this even a little helpful and that you will give it a go. Let’s stop sending ‘naked envelopes’ and give them a bit of love!
