#SimpleStamping Saturday – #Elfie. I have really fallen for this little chap. He was not on my original ‘Wish List’, but I succumbed a while ago and I am glad I did. It is sad to see him go, but I wanted to give him at least one more outing before he finally leaves us. Today he is getting the #SimpleStamping treatment. One design, three ways. Quick and Simple, a little more involved and then lots more product and a few more techniques. Worth mentioning that #Elfie has been discounted as part of the End of Year Clearout, so you can get it for only £16, not the £20 in the list below!!!!!
The #SimpleStamping version is a simple stamped image, coloured with Watercolour Pencils from Assortment 2 (see the Annual Catalogue for full details. I have stamped on the inside, for once, and on the envelope, always. The colouring is quiet simple and uses only 4 of the Watercolour Pencils. Just bear in mind that the more you colour the more intense the colour becomes. As I said, Quick and Simple.
For my next version I added a pack of Brights and Basic Black A4 Card stock and some Whisper White Card, just for the stamping. I chose to use the Watercolour Pencils again, but this time I used a Blender Pen to smooth out the colour. Please remember to wait until the Tuxedo Black is dry before you start colouring or you may smudge the image. Also, clean your Blender pen well between colours to avoid an Elf with yellow cheeks!
The final version introduces Blends and Fussy Cutting, as well as some Rhinestones for a bit of ‘Bling’. To add to the ‘Bling’ I also added some Wink of Stella and Shimmery Crystal Effects. The Wink of Stella is on almost everything left white, while the Shimmery Crystal Effects is on the Bells on #Elfie’s Hat and Boots. I added some hand drawn Basic Black lines to add to the frame of the project. The key to these is to make them deliberately ‘not straight’ and to use at least 2. I think this simple step adds a lot to the project.
What do you think? Which grabs your attention first? Is that the same as the one you would try to make?
