Nature’s Beauty Shimmer Card. I am so please to be able to confirm that almost everything I am using in today’s project is ether carrying over, or coming back next winter. Nature’s Beauty, which is the ‘Difference Maker’ Stamp set at the very back of the Autumn/Winter Catalogue, is carrying over. If you purchase this set then Stampin’ Up! will donate £2.50/€3.00 to local Mental Health Charities. And what a perfect set to have, it can be used for so much more than Autumn and Winter.
The Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper will be going on a little holiday from 3rd January, but will return next Autumn. This paper has been so popular, Stampin’ Up! has decided to give you more opportunities to use it. The same goes for the Feels Like Frost and Brightly Gleaming Specialty papers.
But back to today. I decided to stamp and heat emboss the deer from Nature’s Beauty onto Vellum and then layer over the Toile Tidings paper. To make sure that the image stood out from a fairly busy background I chose to use the Shimmer Black embossing powder from the Annual Catalogue. Of course using vellum can be a little tricky because adhesive will show through. I solved this by adding small dots of multi-purpose liquid adhesive under the image and where the sentiment and ribbon were to be added. Once I had layered the Vellum and Toile Tidings paper, I put a heavy weight on top to make sure that it adhered well.
I added a mat of the matching cardstock and then layered on the opposite colour card base. Well almost! The Toile Tidings paper is printed on Very Vanilla in either Garden Green or Real Red. Only problem was that I had convinced myself that it was Cherry Cobbler, not Real Red, so the Garden Green version is on a Cherry Cobbler card base. Fortunately it worked well, so I got away with it. What do you think? Does Cherry Cobbler work OK?
I had intended using the Cherry Cobbler Diagonal Stripe ribbon, but switched to the Very Vanilla and Copper Classic Weave instead. Personally I prefer the Garden Green version. Which do you prefer?
