Global Video Collaboration Group – New Year. Welcome to our Video Hop for the December. Our theme for the month is ‘New Year’. I have taken this very literally, with a New Year card, but I know some of the others are thinking of this as a wider topic, so it should be an interesting hop.
I made my project before the End of Year Closeout details were announced, so I am very sad to hear that the Sip, Sip, Hooray Bundle will not be carrying over. If, like me, you think this is going to be a really useful set for all kinds of celebrations, then please don’t miss out, get it while stocks last.
The project does involve heat embossing and die cuts, but if you have those skills in your crafty skill set, the project is not difficult to put together. I die cut the stamped and heat embossed glasses and stacked them on four die extra die cuts from Thick Whisper White to make them stand out from the rest of the card. You could use Dimensionals instead of the extra die cuts, but I actually like the stacked look and use it quite a lot. The ‘Happy’ is die cut in gold foil using the ‘Merry Christmas’ dies and the ‘2020’ is heat embossed using some of the numbers from ‘Make a Difference’ stamp set, this has so many fonts to choose from and is a great addition to any stash.
I chose a slightly different colour way, using So Saffron for both the mat and the contents of the glass. By stamping off the So Saffron ink before adding it to the glass image, you get a much softer look that is pretty close to the true colour of sparkling wine. I added Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to the original version of the card, but Wink of Stella to the second version. They are both great at adding some extra shimmer to the card, but I think I prefer the look of the Wink of Stella.
Now, please watch the video and then follow the hop along to see what the others have made for you, there are links to their videos in the Description bar of mine.
