Top Tip Tuesday – Change the Colour of Jingle Bells. Did you take a look at my project yesterday? I made a really opulent card as my project for Kylie Bertucci’s Blog Hop. The only problem was that as I was making the one for the video, I realised that the Jingle Bells were not going to match. The daft thing is that I have known how to resolve this problem for years. But I was not to be daunted, I was determined to finish my card and sort it our later.
Well it is now sorted and the picture in yesterday’s post shows how I sorted it out. Well, that’s not strictly true, it shows that it has been sorted out, but not how. Today is when I will show you how. It is not complicated and is certainly not a new technique. But a word of warning first. You end up handling VERY hot metal and molten Embossing powder, so be warned, only do this if you are aware of the possibilities of burns. DO NOT allow children to do this without supervision.
Do you feel suitably warned? OK, so the technique is very simple. All you have to do is cover your, in this case, Jingle Bell with Versamark Ink. Once you have a good covering, dip your Jingle Bell into your embossing powder and make sure it is well covered. Holding your Jingle Bell with tweezers, now heat the powder. Because metal conducts heat well, the powder will melt VERY fast, so do be careful. You can see it all in action in today’s video.
