#SimpleStamping Saturday Let it Snow. Welcome to another #SimpleStamping Saturday. I had meant to take part in a Blog Hop today, but I missed the deadline for getting everything in place. But, I am still going to use the sketch that we were working to. It is a really simple sketch and I think these are such a help for new crafters. There is no time like the present to introduce these in your crafting. They can be a great way to start the creative juices going.
As every, I am starting with a note card and envelope, but this time there is NO stamping in the Simple version. I know!! Call it #SimpleStamping Saturday and then leave out the stamping!!! Don’t worry, I have not gone totally mad, there is still stamping, just not on the front of the card. Don’t worry, I have stamped inside and, of course, on the envelope! I have used one piece of the Let it Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper for the background of the card.
I simply cut into strips and then stuck the two side pieces before layering the middle piece over the gap. The cross piece is just a narrow strip of another design. For the focal point, I cut out a snow man from the same pack of paper. Like I said, a #SimpleStamping Saturday with, almost, no stamping. I have stamped on the envelope and also inside the card.
The first stepped up version introduces Red Glimmer Paper, the Snowman Builder Punch (which you can buy on its own, or as a Bundle with the Snowman Season Stamp set), Red Curly Ribbon, Shimmer Crystal Effects and Basic Pearls. The basic construction is the same, although I have mounted the finished piece on Real Red and Shaded Spruce, The Glimmer Paper is punched using the 2-1/4″ Circle punch, but you could substitute a circle die if you wish.
The final stepped up version uses the Snowman Season Stamp set. I added Ice Glitter to the snowman, including his arms and hat, by covering him with Fine Tipped Glue. You would need to leave the piece to dry (I left it overnight!). The final touches were a bow with the Red Curly Ribbon and the addition of some Coastal Cabana Holiday Rhinestones.
So, which do you prefer? I love the paper and really must use more of it. It has Glitter actually on the paper, so if you like glitter, but don’t like it shedding, this is definitely a solution for you.
