#SimpleStamping Saturday Christmastime is Here. This #SimpleStamping Saturday project is a little different. There is very little stamping, but I have also included Designer Series Paper and a Punch! My theory for this was that at Christmas some people want to make a stepped up project, so I put my mind to creating a quick and simple card that a new stamper should be able to make.
The simple version uses a single piece of paper that is just cut to form a larger and smaller piece. I covered the join with a narrow strip of Gold Foil, trimmed to length once it was adhered to the paper. Stamp the sentiment, from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set, in Cherry Cobbler to match the paper, punch it out and add it to the card with Dimensionals. Because you are stamping on a scrap of card, it doesn’t matter if you go wrong, you just stamp it again. If you don’t have a punch, just trim the stamped piece to size with a trimmer. Oh, and don’t forget to stamp the envelope too!!
The casual version is not that different, other than it is uses gold Heat Embossing for the stamping and adds some Glitter Dots. Again, a really simple card. It is so similar to the quick and simple version that it almost felt like cheating, then I remembered the Heat Embossing, which is a great technique, but may not be one that a new stamper would feel comfortable using.
The avid version uses the same basic idea, but adds a Cherry Cobbler Mat and a Mossy Meadow card base. The Gold Foil is replaced with Gold Shimmer Ribbon and I punched extra layers for the sentiment, cut them in half and then spread them across the back of the stamped piece. Of course I had to add even more Glitter Dots!!
I hope you enjoyed this project and that you will try one of the versions. Remember you can change the Papers and ink you use to suit what you have in stock.
