Kylie Bertucci Blog Hop – Peaceful Boughs Opulent Cards. Welcome to this Blog Hop. At the time of writing this post, there are about 40 of us taking part, so if you want to hop round the whole group, grab yourself a cup, or glass, of something to keep you going. You will find lots of inspiration along the way. The only requirement we have been given is that we may only use current products.
I have chosen to make a couple of heat embossed cards using the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set. I was aiming for a really opulent result, so chose Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce as my main colour. This ultimately was a bit of a problem, but if you watch the video and then take a close look at my photos, you will see that I have sorted that out. You can find more information about that tomorrow on my Top Tip Tuesday.
I used gold heat embossing on the Shaded Spruce version of my card, adding a small piece of gold foil card, some Shaded Spruce and Gold Striped Ribbon and some of the Jingle Bells. The Shaded Spruce ribbon did not stand out from the card enough for me, so I added some of the Gold Metallic Edged Ribbon behind it. I added a double width of the Gold Metallic Ribbon and it made just the change I was looking for. The Jingle Bells were added using Mini Glue Dots. Everything is mounted on a Thick Very Vanilla card base. Because of the addition of the Jingle Bells, this is a card to either hand deliver, or just bite the bullet for the additional postage, it will be worth it!
When I came to make the Cherry Cobbler version of the card, on camera, I realised part way through that I was going to have a problem when it came to adding the Jingle Bells. I could do Cherry Cobbler, but as I had use Copper Embossing powder, I was stuck when it came to the other bell. Come back tomorrow to see how I managed to get over that problem. I used the Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla Diagonal Striped Ribbon, which meant that, because it is me, I had a problem with the wrong side of the ribbon showing. I have resolved it with lots of twisting, so all good in the end.
Please take some time to look at some of the other projects that my fellow hoppers have to showcase for you. Knowing some of those taking part, you will not be disappointed. The blog roll is further down this post, just before the list of products I used.

Loved the vertical ribbon placement on these cards. I think I may try that layout on my next design. 😊
