Top Tip Tuesday – Get Better Stamp Placement Every Time. This week I have a quick little tip for you that could make positioning your stamps in the Stamparatus (or other Stamp Positioning tool – yes, I accept they do exist!) even better. The Stamparatus has a grid on both the clear plates, the bottom surface, the Deluxe Foam Pad and the Mini Grid Paper. This is great, but, while these are great at ensuring that your stamps are straight, they are not great at making sure they are square on the card.
The solution is a simple piece of Window Sheet cut to the same size as the card or mat you are stamping on. You only have to make these once and they should last after that. Simply cut your Window Sheet to the size you need and then mark the middle on both axes and mark these across the full width in a permanent marker (I suggest a narrow nib for accuracy). Choose a second colour marker and then mark increments from the middle out. I chose to do my marks every 1/4″, but you could do every half cm if you prefer.
Now place this on your Stamparatus where you would place your card. Place the stamps in the correct, central, position on the Window Sheet and then close the lid to pick the stamps up. Carefully remove the Window Sheet (if you are using Photopolymer stamps the Window sheet will probably stick to them!)
Now ink up and stamp as usual. Your stamps will be in EXACTLY the centre of your card, where you want them. It really is that easy. The only time consuming part is getting the grid made, but as I mentioned, once it is made it will last for a long time.
To see me use my grid in action, simply watch the YouTube video above.
