#Simplestamping Saturday – Cup of Christmas. Yes, it is Saturday again and I have another amazing handful of projects for you. As ever we are going to start with a Note Card and Envelope with just a couple of ink colours and nothing else. We will then add a few more products and techniques before finishing off with an ‘all singing, all dancing’ version.
Each version will have the same basic layout to show how easy it is to step up your crafting as your stash and confidence grow. I like to think that the #Simplestamping version is not just for new stampers, but is also great if you are looking to make really quick cards, or lots of them in a limited amount of time.
The #Simplestamping version uses just Real Red and Garden Green inks on a Whisper White Note Card. I started by adding a strip of stamping across the top and bottom of the card. It is worth mentioning that it is MUCH easier to stamp on the Note Cards before you fold them. Trying to stamp on a surface that is not totally flat is not the easiest. I masked the back of the Note Card with Post-It Notes and started my stamping from the cut edge. Because the stamps are clear, it is really easy to see through them to complete the full lines across the card. Then simply add the mug, a sentiment and the foliage at the top of the mug and the card is finished. I did stamp the envelope, after all it is #Simplestamping Saturday.
My next version uses the amazing new ‘Reversible’ stamps. Cup of Christmas is the first of this style of stamp that has been released by Stampin’ Up!, I hope it will not be the last. I replaced on of the stamped borders with the Garden Green Striped Ribbon. The sentiment is stamped on a 1-1/2″ circle with a 1-3/4″ Glimmer Paper circle behind it. There are some Real Red and Garden Green Glitter Enamel Dots in the Toile Tidings Suite, so I added some to this card for a bit of extra ‘bling’.
My final card introduces the Cup of Cheer Dies, which you can get with the Cup of Christmas stamps as a Bundle, saving 10%. I also added some Red Glimmer Paper and moved the sentiment, but the basic design is still the same. I have kept to the Real Red and Garden Green colour palette throughout.
So which one do like most? Are you a ‘Quick and Simple’ or a ‘Throw everything at it’ Crafter? Or maybe you take the middle ground and are more of an ‘add a little bit of bling’ Crafter? I would love to hear from you, so why not add a comment at the bottom of this post and let me know which you would make?
