Gift Card Holder Gift Card. I know that sounds like there are too many Gift Cards, but it is actually a correct description for today’s project.
Today I am making a standard sized Card that has a hidden secret – a Gift Card. This does take most of a sheet of cardstock, but it is just too good to not make.
The first card I made used the really traditional, but so usable, Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper. The vast majority of the designs in the Wrapped in Plaid paper are not strictly Christmas, so this is a great pack to get if you think you only have a few cards to make. The rest of the papers will serve you well in the coming months, particularly for those ‘Oh so difficult’ Masculine Cards, so grab a pack of Wrapped in Plaid now and you have paper ready for both Christmas and male cards. I used Shaded Spruce for my card base, but this inside decoration uses Cherry Cobbler. You will need to watch the video to see how I decorated that card.
The card I made on camera, and trust me when I say it is worth watching if only for my mistake, is made from Seaside Spray card and the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper. This is just so pretty and, again, can be used for non-Christmas projects too. The actual Gift Card holder can be made with either a die, or a punch, so this is perfect for a lot of crafters.
The inside of the Feels Like Frost card continues the snow theme from the outside, with some snowflakes die cut from the centre of the die cut I used on the outside of the card, plus a little scrap. I had intended to use the middle of the Night of Navy mat for the sentiment, but it was not to be.
This is also a really easy project to put together, so why not give it a go. If you do make it, why not share your version on my Old Stables Crafty Hangout Facebook Group. We would love to see them.
