Abstract Impressions for the Global Monthly Video Hop. A very special welcome if this is your first visit to my site. Today I am taking part in the Global Monthly Video Hop for the first time. I was thrilled to be invited to join this group of crafters. It is always wonderful to be invited, but also a little daunting as you are not sure quite what is expected.
Today we are all showcasing the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set, so if this is one you have or that you are thinking about, you will find lots of inspiration, so please take a look at all the other videos. These are linked further down this post and on my YouTube video. I think my project will be a bit of a surprise as it involves very little colour, but I hope you enjoy it.
I decided that as I am already in the build up to Christmas, I needed to keep with that ‘feel, so have gone metallic and used embossing powder and glimmer paper for my project. There are two versions to share, silver and gold, so you can take a look and let me know which you prefer. I know which is my favourite, but I would love to know yours. Leave a comment here or on my YouTube channel to let me know.
Because I want to get the most out of my supplies, I ‘gutted’ the Glimmer Paper mat and only used narrow strips behind the banner piece, this is a great way to stretch your supplies. If you watched yesterdays Top Tip Tuesday you will already have seen some suggestions about how to stretch your supplies this way. If you missed it, why not take a look.
When you are layering different colours of heat embossing it is VERY important not to over heat any of them. This means that you need to pay particular attention to the first layer and stop heating it as it is turning glossy. You will be coming back with the heat gun again, so if there are a few areas that need to melt a little more, you will have another opportunity.
So, which did you prefer? Are you a Silver or a Gold fan? Have you been inspired to give this a go with your Abstract Impressions set, or order it?

Nail Varnish Colours
Today’s Nail Colours are by Nails Inc. PLEASE NOTE, I get no commission from Nails Inc if you choose to shop from them using this link.
Videos are nice BUT . . . I sure would appreciate having a link to the blog post too. I can quickly scan through a blog post and feel unhappily stuck watching a video. Beautiful card by the way. I love those inks too.
Hi Katie
I am so happy you found the link to my blog post. I always add it to the information in the Description below my YouTube videos. The inks are Versamark with two layers of heat embossing, one metallic and one Shimmery Black. Thank you for stopping by. Lx
