Top Tip Tuesday – Feels Like Frost Ice Ice Baby. I have a slightly different Top Tip Tuesday for you today. Why is it different? Well there is an actual, real life Project!!! I know!!! Great isn’t it. Wanting to show off some of our ‘Ice’ options today and how to use them, I thought the easiest way would be to use them on a card or two.
I pulled a couple of scraps from the Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper is so amazing you almost don’t need to do anything with it, but it is also crying out for some Ice Ice Baby!! The first ‘Ice’ I want to show you is the new Ice Stampin’ Glitter from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. This is a large clear glitter and is perfect to add to anything that has an Ice finish. I recommend using the Fine Tipped Glue pen for this. It dries with a clear gloss finish, so adds to the finished effect. You can add it in lines or to large areas, just let your imagination run wild.
The second ‘Ice’ I have for you is the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. We have had this in the Annual Catalogue for a while now, so it may well be in your stash already. This is great for adding a very fine glitter effect, again I would use the Fine Tipped Glue Pen for this. Both the Ice Stampin’ Glitter and the Dazzling Diamonds were perfect to add to the snow covered needles of the paper I chose.
My last ‘Ice’ was new in the current Annual Catalogue and is the Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The glitter in this is a mix of silver and white. It was perfect for the snowflake background of my card. Just a really subtle effect, not too obvious, but definitely there.
In today’s video I also mentioned the Shimmer Crystal Effects. This has a very subtle glitter finish, but its main property is that it dries as a thick layer. It would be perfect if you want that raised finish with just a hint of glitter. That was not what I wanted for today’s project, but I could not talk about Ice effects without mentioning it. There is also the Snow Fall Puff Paint in the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue, but at the moment this is not available in Europe, thanks to German Customs. Fingers crossed it will released by them soon.
I hope you have enjoyed this slightly different Top Tip Tuesday. As the Strip of Paper is only 2 ” wide, just think of how many cards you could get from one pack of this amazing Specialty Designer Series Paper. OK, I will do the maths for you. It is an amazing 144 cards, I know, that truly is AMAZING!
