Stampers Showcase Blog Hop – Holly Jolly Christmas. Welcome to my blog, if you are a returning visitor, thank you for coming back. If this your first visit, welcome and I hope you have a good time here. You have joined me as I am taking part in a Blog Hop, so if you are a regular visitor, that is way I am a little later posting than usual.
Our theme today is sharing some of our favourite projects from the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue. It is such an amazing catalogue, so this was quite hard for me because I have LOTS of favourites. I decided to pick the Holly Jolly Christmas Bundle from the Night Before Christmas Suite. The card is really quite simple, but as I used the amazing Designer Series Paper, that was all that was needed.
I chose the Santa image and stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black ready to colour with some Stampin’ Blends. Do allow the Tuxedo Black to dry fully before you start colouring, you can die cut the image while you are waiting.
I have used quite a few Stampin’ Blends, but I love that once you have them you can use them over and over again. Having the two tips means that you can colour really small areas or large ones, and the finish is second to none. I did add some Wink of Stella to add a subtle shimmer to the fur trim on Santa’s suit. The Wink of Stella is always a great product to have on hand, but at Christmas it is a MUST!
Adding a small amount of ribbon and a fake knot is the perfect addition to this card, not too much and not too little. The finishing touch is to add a sentiment, which I did on the inside of this card. For my returning visitors you will know that I often leave finishing the inside until I am ready to send the card so I can make it either a ‘Thank You’, ‘Thinking of You’ or ‘Birthday’. At Christmas there is no reason not to add the sentiment as you make the card!
You will have spotted that I used Poppy Parade for my original cards, but Cherry Cobbler for the project I made on the video. I kept Santa in Poppy Parade, because I think his suit needs to be bright. But the real question is which one do you prefer? Poppy Parade or Cherry Cobbler? I would love to hear from you, so why not leave a comment below? Do remember to keep hopping along. If you click the ‘Next’ button below you will join Amy Koenders, who I know will have a fantastic project for you.
