#SimpleStamping Saturday – Tidings All Around Cards. Can it really be another week since I shared my last #SimpleStamping Saturday project with you all. As you read this, I will be on my annual holiday. I have filmed, photographed and written everything to cover my holiday and beyond I am beginning to loose all track of time! But, as ever, today’s projects go from one quick and simple idea right up to one that uses lots of product and techniques. There is a project between the two that is a transition point, so I hope you can see how it is possible to start with straightforward projects, but build up to more complex ones as your stash and ability increase.
My first, quick and simple, card uses a Very Vanilla Note Card and envelope and just two ink pads, Real Red and Old Olive. It really is a very quick card to put together, simply stamp the wreath in Old Olive and then the sentiment fits perfectly underneath. I chose to use Real Red for the sentiment to help with the Christmas feel, but you could use just the one ink colour if you wanted. Don’t forget to decorate your envelope too, imagine getting an envelope that is decorated, think of the anticipation for the recipient!
My Casual Card introduces the Regal Colour Card pack as well as some ribbon and heat embossing. I have replaced the Old Olive Ink with Versamark and then heat embossed the wreath with Copper Embossing Powder. I stamped the sentiment in Real Red again, but on a scrap of card that I trimmed to the right height and width before flagging the ends with the Tailored Tag Punch. To dress the wreath up a bit, I added some Red Rhinestones around it, there are so many in a pack you can be generous. The finishing touch was Real Red Cotton Ribbon below the wreath.
The Avid Card uses the Seasonal Wreath 3D Embossing folder behind the die cut wreath (cut from Copper Foil). The layout is the same as the Casual Card, complete with Red Rhinestones on the wreath. I replaced the straight piece of ribbon and single tie with a bow. To be honest, I forgot to add the ribbon before sticking the card layers together, so simply replaced it with a bow.
I used the Tidings All Around stamp set and matching All Around Wreath dies (remember if you use the BUNDLE code you save 10% on each). The dies also coordinate with the Seasonal Wreaths, so if you are buying the bundle why not get the second stamp set so that you have even more options. The Seasonal Wreaths stamps cover all the seasons perfectly. Remember that I have listed the items in the order in which I introduce them.
