One Stamp at a Time – Welcome to Our Holiday. When I saw the theme for today’s Blog Hop I wondered if someone had taken a peak at my Diary. Why? Because tomorrow my husband and I leave for our ‘Summer’ Holiday. Don’t worry about the Condiments (if this is your first visit to my website, don’t worry, I am not totally bonkers – our cats – Salt, Pepper and Mustard – are known as the Condiments). The Condiments will be having one of their friends to stay to make sure they are well looked after (well, more than likely spoiled!)
I did realise that what we were actually looking at was the AMAZING Autumn/Winter Catalogue (in the UK we don’t call it the Holiday Catalogue). For once I did remember that we are meant to make two items, so I have a really cute gift box and a tag to share with you. The idea for the gift box came from one I received from my Team Leader, Michelle Last. It is such a brilliant project and takes very little card or paper to make. You could make 4 from one sheet of 12 x 12 paper, or 3 from a piece of either International A4 or North American Letter card. The Dimensions are at the bottom of this post.
I made two samples for you to look at. The first uses the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper. In the UK we don’t have ‘Thanksgiving’ in the same way as in the USA. We do have Harvest Festival, but it is not quite the same thing. It tends to be very much more of a Religious Festival, with a Harvest Supper the day before the Harvest Festival service in Churches across the country. The Harvest Supper in our Village will be held on 5th October and I will be helping to run it. I am thinking that I may see if I have time to make one of these little boxes for everyone who attends. We normally have about 50 people, so a pack of Paper would be just about right. Hmmm. I will have to see.
The tag is really simple to make. It is just a piece of 2″ wide Whisper White card with a strip of the patterned Paper the same size, plus another strip that is 1-1/2″ wide. So you don’t damage the Delightful Tag Topper Punch, I suggest punching the 1-1/2″ strip BEFORE you adhere it to the tag.
I really hope you have enjoyed seeing me make this project. Do remember that because we use the same colours across our catalogues, you will find that some products you already have will coordinate with the new Autumn/Winter Items. Now watch my ‘how to’ video and then continue the hop to see what the others have got up to with this theme.
