Freaky Friday – Wonderfully Wicked. I recently did a poll in one of the Facebook Groups I am in that only has European members. I asked them whether they and the country they came from, generally embraces Halloween at all. The reaction was quite a surprise. Apparently there are very few of us who embrace it. Some will put up some home decor items, but Trick or Treat and the like, not so much. To be honest as my Mother’s birthday was on 31st October, the day before mine, we have never embraced it at home, but otherwise I really think we would – well I would!!
Being able to bring you all some Freaky Friday projects does make up for not being brought up with Halloween, so on with today’s project. This is a quick gift wrap to put together, because I have used the Pillow Boxes from the Annual Catalogue. All I have needed to do is add the external decoration. As I have only just got my hands on the Wonderfully Wicked Bundle, I couldn’t help myself, I just had to use it. It has the Wonderfully Wicked stamp set and the Wicked Dies. Remember if you order them both as the Wonderfully Wicked Bundle you save 10% on the combined price.
I mounted all the decoration on one of the Stitched Nested Labels (the second largest). To fit in with the fell of the project, I distressed the edges by sponging with some Pumpkin Pie ink. The stamps are added in either Basic Gray and Black for the sample, but with the addition of Real Red and Early Espresso for the one I made on camera. The one I made ‘live’ also has die cut spiders, just to change things up a bit. Which do you prefer? Just leave a comment either here or on the YouTube video, I would love to hear from you.

I wanted the ‘Wicked’ die cut to be in foil, but distressed, so I took a piece of Copper Foil, scribbled on it with the Dark Basic Black Blend, added some Rubbing Alcohol and then ‘moved’ the ink around so it gave a mottled effect. The result is better than I thought it might be and I may need to try this again soon.
So, what do you think? Are you getting excited that Halloween is coming, or is it going to pass you by again? Please let me know, and also let me know which version of the project you like most. I can’t wait to hear from you.
