Varied Vases Colour Challenge for Inspire.Create.Challenges. Yes another fortnight has slipped by and we are already in August. The nights are beginning to draw in and Demonstrators are already thinking about Christmas. I know the ‘C’ word already, but we are able to order from the new Catalogue more than a month before it is launched. Just one of the many perks of being a Demonstrator.
But back to the here and now. Today is Colour Challenge day and it is such a wonderful choice of colours, giving so many options for soft, subtle projects, or ones with more ‘punch’.
I have opted for a minimalist project, focusing on the softer palette, with just a hint of the Mango Melody. My layout is all focused towards the bottom right hand corner, which is an area that the eye find very easy to look at, particularly if you are in a country that reads from top left to bottom right. We have trained our brains to find bottom right a happy place to settle.
I did not want to make a showy project for this Challenge, and had a sneak peak of some of the other projects by the time I actually got around to sorting my project out. This meant I knew which stamp sets and styles the others had used, so I pulled Varied Vases and made my simple project. This uses no fancy techniques (other than some ‘stamping off’. The only fiddly bit was sticking on the tiny sequins, but that was not complicated at all.
Because the Varied Vases has a punch, it makes it a great set for quick cards with a little extra something. The bonus with this punch is that there are TWO stamp sets that coordinate with it, the one I used and Vibrant Vases, so you can get double duty from the punch if yu have both sets of stamps.
If you would like to take part in the Challenge, just click on the image of the colours further up this post and see what the others have made. You will also see details of how you can take part.
