#SimpleStamping Saturday – Hoot, Hoot, Hooray. I am sorry that there was no #SimpleStamping Saturday project last week, but sometimes other things do get in the way. I have a slightly different project for you today. Normally I use one of our standard Note Cards and Envelopes as the starting point for these projects. Today I am using one of the Scalloped version. These still come in a pack of 20, but are in four fantastic colours. I selected to use the Pink ones today.
I am using the ‘Happy Birthday’ Cupcake stamp and for the Quick and Simple version I simple stamped it in Tuxedo Black and then coloured the image with Watercolour Pencils (Collection 2). If you use the Blender Pen after you have coloured the image you can move the colour around so it has a softer finish. SO easy, but so quick.
The first stepped up version adds coloured card stock and some Vellum. I wanted a soft finish for the mat layer, which is why I chose the Vellum. To hide the adhesive, I added ribbon at the bottom of the card and hid more adhesive behind the stamped piece. This was just a scrap of Whisper White card trimmed to 2″ and then shaped with the Triple Banner Punch. I decided to heat emboss the image using Black Embossing Powder, and then coloured in with Blends. Be careful not to use the blends over the embossing too much as they may pick up some black.
The final version uses the largest circle from the Stitched circles and the Lace 3D Embossing folder to change it up a bit. Other than those minor changes the project is almost identical to the previous version. I hope I have shown how you can step your projects up in comfortable steps as your stash expands and your tool box of techniques grows. None of the versions are difficult, they just use more ‘stuff’.
