Parcels & Petals – Is It Square or Triangular Box. I have a slightly different box for you today, it is square, but also triangular. However you look at it, it is another of my ‘fiddly, but not difficult’ projects. So if you are feeling just a little brave, why not give it a go? Oh, and for once I have provided metric measurements for this box! Yes, I know, it surprised me too!!!
Looking for a stamp I could use for an all over pattern, I pulled the Parcels & Petals stamp set for this box. The watercolour style floral seemed to be just what I was after. I chose to make this from Sahara Sand card because I wanted to use the InColor Ribbon, which is on a Linen background, so perfect to blend with Sahara Sand. I made both Rococo Rose and Terracotta Tile versions, but you could also use Pretty Peacock, but I am not sure the lighter InColors would work very on the Sahara Sand Card.
The key to this box is to remember that you DO NOT score the back seam, just mark where the overlap will be. This is clearer if you watch the video of how to make the box.
The sentiment for the top of the box is also from the Parcels & Petals stamp set, and the die is from the matching, Perfect Parcels, dies. Remember that if you by the Parcels & Petals as a Bundle you will save 10% on the cost of both.
I finished the top of the box with a small amount of ribbon, the die cut and some of the InColor Faceted Dots. I am really pleased how this box turned out and can see myself making it in the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper from the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue. Punch a small hole in the lid, add a loop of ribbon and it could even be hung from the Christmas Tree!! Watch this space for that project.
