Very Versailles Spotlight Technique for ICC #047. Welcome to another Inspire.Create.Challenges project. This time we have a simple sketch for you to follow. If you click on the picture below, you will jump to the ICC Website and can see what the other members of the Design Team have come up with. But DON’T go yet!!! First take a look at my design for this challenge.
I chose to use the new Very Versailles stamp set on page 113 of the new Annual Catalogue and to take the sketch pretty literally with a Spotlight card. Often this is made with black as the background stamping colour, but I decided to change it up a little and went with 2nd generation Gray Granite. This is such a nice ‘warm’ grey (yes, I know I have spelt grey two ways, but I am English, and we spell it with an ‘E’, but the colour is spelt with an ‘A’!)
As I was using 2 stamps for this, I used the Stamparatus to make sure that the positioning was perfect. I chose Blushing Bride and Mossy Meadow as my feature colours, but, again, used 2nd generation for a softer result. Using the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes, I layers the coloured image over the Gray Granite, using Dimensionals.
For the sentiment I used full strength Gray Granite ink on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock. The ends are shaped with the Tailored Tag Punch and then adhered to a strip of Gray Granite cardstock. The ends of the Gray Granite card are shaped with the same punch then adhered to the stitched circle.
I wanted to see the difference between layering the stamped piece on Mossy Meadow and then Blushing Bride, or the other way around. I think you could almost get away with the Mossy Meadow card base being used for a man. What do you think?
Tomorrow’s post will be a little later than usual as I am taking part in the One Stamp at A Time Blog Hop. This is going to be mega, so do come back and take a look!!
