The Ultimate Sparkling Butterfly Gala. I spotted a card, similar to the one I am sharing today, on Pinterest a few months ago and knew I had to have a go at making it my own. That day has finally arrived and here are two versions of the card I have made.
These were not difficult to make, but they were a bit fiddly, particularly the one in Pretty Peacock. Those sequins were a bit of a pain to stick down, but I love the finished effect of the trail of sequins. I picked the Pretty Peacock ones from the Woven Threads Sequin Assortment and also added a few of the Noble Peacock Rhinestones for the body. Because I was using Vellum, I was able to Heat Emboss the butterfly in Pretty Peacock, using Clear Embossing Powder as the Classic Ink takes a while to dry on Vellum. The sentiment comes from Wildly Happy.
The second version of this card is in Silver and uses Basic Rhinestones for the trail. This was certainly quicker to make, but I do think I prefer the Pretty Peacock version. You will see how I made the silver version in today’s video.
I used the Stitched Rectangles to cut pretty much all of the pieces for the cards. Wanting to see the difference if I changed the size of the frames, the Silver version uses slightly smaller ones for each layer.
But the real question is ‘Which to you prefer?’. The simplicity of the Silver, or the opulence of the Pretty Peacock? I would love to hear from you.
