#Simplestamping Saturday It Starts with Art. Seriously, where is the time going. How can it possibly be Saturday again already! Hey Ho, it is so that means it must be time for another #Simplestamping Saturday project. One basic design three ways. Starting with a quick and simple card, suitable for beginners and those wanting a speedy card. Next we add a few more supplies and techniques, then we look at a card that is suitable for the ‘I have lots of stuff’ people (OK, I accept that includes me!)
So, our first project is some simple stamping and colouring with watercolour pencils, but I did add some patterned paper. I don’t think new crafters make enough of our Designer Series Papers. There are so many amazing designs to choose from in each pack. This means you can cover so many styles and occasions all from one purchase. Although I used watercolour pencils for my card, you can use Markers or Blends with as much success, but I am trying to use products that are likely to be within the budget of the new crafter.
The next stage is to add A4 card and coloured card to the mix. This gives you a larger canvas to work with, so you can add a little more to your project. I have included quite a few stamped images, and included some very simple masking to allow for layering of the stamped images. All of the images are cut by hand, having been coloured with Blends. I used Pacific Point Classic Ink for this and all of the cards. Because our Classic Inks are water based they work well with Blends, just make sure the ink is fully dry first.
My final project includes quite a few die cuts. I also dyed the twine around the spool at the bottom of the card. This is very simple to do. Simply take a length of Whisper White Baker’s Twine and soak it in a small pot of water with a few drops of Ink Refill. I hope you realise that this means you can have Baker’s Twine in EVERY Colour you want!!! I should add that I had forgotten that the Embellishment Kit that goes with the suite includes twine in two colours – Woops!!
So, I hope you enjoyed today’s projects. As ever for #Simplestamping Saturday, the products I have used are listed in the order that they are introduced, this is why there is the Stamp Set AND the Bundle.
