Parcels & Petals Video and Blog Hop. WOW, what an amazing honour! I was thrilled when I received the invitation to join this hop. All the projects will focus on this amazing Bundle, so once you have looked at my project and video, please go and have a look at the others. You will get so many ideas for how to use this set, you are going to have to buy it!! If you have joined me from Janneke in the Netherlands, welcome and I hope you enjoy my project.
I decided to embrace monotone for both versions of my projects. I love the clean lines that this can give you, and this Bundle lends itself to this well.
My first version uses Black and Silver as a twist on straight Black & White. It gives a little more opulence to the finished projects. The inspiration for this was the Glittered Organdy Ribbon that carried over from the Autumn/Winter catalogue. As it says in the catalogue, it is great for ‘sophisticated projects’, and it certainly does add some sophistication to this little parcel.
In the video you will see my tips for constructing the parcel. It is really simple once you understand how it works, and you can make it in either card or Designer Series Paper. Just be careful about what you put in boxes made with lighter weights of paper. I found that liquid adhesive was the perfect product to put this together, but you could use Tear& Tape if you wish; I would NOT recommend Snail, even if you use Paper.
The version I made in the video uses standard Whisper White Cardstock and Black embossing, with Black foil in place of the Silver from the original. And here’s a tip, do the embossing on the box BEFORE you burnish the score lines. The powder really wanted to cling to the creases, so there was quite a bit of brushing away to be done!
Whether you are a regular visitor or this is your first visit, I hope you have enjoyed joining me today. Do remember to visit all the other hoppers, knowing their work, they are going to have something very special to share with you.
If you enjoyed my project using this amazing bundle, why not continue the hop by joining Paula in New Zealand:
