New Wonders Old Style Decoupage. As soon as I saw this new Host Stamp Set I knew it needed to be cut up and layered. Good old fashioned Decoupage. A great technique for so many stamps, just not ideal if you are worried about postage costs. This project has not one, but three additional layers!
I thought I would start by explaining what Host Stamp Sets are and how you can get them. They are very special for a couple of reasons. Firstly, they are only available FREE, which is a great price!! They are also made in fewer numbers because not everyone is able to get their hands on one. Oh, and they are subsidised (how come they are FREE and subsidised – read on). You can find them in the back of the Annual Catalogue, on pages 205 – 207, this is also where you will also find all the details of how to earn these. If you would like more information on hosting a Workshop, either in person or on Facebook, just drop me an email.
Back to my card. The patterned mat is one of the papers from the Perennial Essence suite as my background, adhered to a So Saffron mat. I die cut a circle towards the top left of this. I stamped the fairy peeking through the circle four times in Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured her with Blends before cutting three of those for the layers. Before adding the stamped images to the card, I inked up just the stars and hearts in Versamark, before heat embossing in Silver or Gold. I also heat embossed the ‘Congratulations!’
To form the decoupage, I fussy cut less and less with each layer. The full version was placed behind the circle and the layers were added on top with dimensionals. The So Saffron layer was added to a Blueberry Bushel mat before I added some of the Frost White Shimmer Paint to her hair and the stars. Before adding the mats to a Thick Whisper White Card, I spritzed the whole thing with Frost Shimmer diluted in water. This New Wonders fairy deserves lots of sparkle!
