Inspiring Iris #Simplestamping Saturday. Yes, it really is a week since my last #Simplestamping Saturday post. Where does the time go??
This time I am using the Inspiring Iris stamp set. I love this because you really can’t go far wrong with the 2-Step stamping. The images are not meant to line up ‘perfectly’, so it is a great set to start with. There are three different flowers and some great sentiments, so it can cover you for lots of occasions. The Quick and Simple card uses the usual Note Card & Envelopes, this time in Whisper White. I used just three stamp pads, Memento Tuxedo Black, Highland Heather and Pear Pizzazz. And, guess what? The cost of the Stamp Set, Note Cards & Envelopes and the inks is £47.00. This means you get a Bonus Days Voucher, AKA money off in August!!!
The first stepped up version uses one of my favourite techniques, Spotlight Stamping. For this card I simply used this on at the top of the floral image, by stamping, colouring and punching out just that area. Using Sponge Daubers to add ink to the stamp is a great way to have two colours on the one image. I stamped the whole image on the card mat in Memento Tuxedo Black and then simply layered the punched image over the top. I did add some of the new Tricolor Ribbon as it works with the stamped images perfectly.
The Avid version is Heat Embossed in Black and then water coloured. I added a wash background once the image was dry, this stops the colours from running into each other. The stamped mat is simply added to the coloured mat with the same ribbon and the addition of some Glitter Gems. Just a tip. DON’T try to stamp your sentiment AFTER you have added the card with Dimensionals. It is not a good look!!!
Which version do you prefer? I would love to hear from you. I am looking forward to making lots more projects with this set. To see more, please take a look at the video below.
