Happy Birthday to A Good Man – ICC #048. Welcome to another Inspire Create Challenge project. This time we have a Theme Challenge, and it is a really great theme because you can do pretty much anything with it. Our Theme? Birthdays. You may have spotted this card on Saturday, it is the Avid (I have lots of stuff) project for #Simplestamping Saturday. For once I am sharing just how I made the card. It is not a difficult card to make, but it does include both dies and a 3D embossing folder, so you would need a Die Cutting machine to make it if you wanted to replicate it exactly.
I love adding some embossing to a mat, it adds so much to the finished card and is really easy to and quick. If you have the new style 3D Embossing folders you will either need the new 3D Embossing Folder plate or to add some shims to your sandwich as the new style are a little thinner. The Item number for the new 3D Embossing Plate is 149658, so don’t forget to add it to your shopping list.
I am having a bit of a love affair with the A Good Man Stamp Set. I think it fills a hole in our offering; a Stamp set for ALL the men in our lives. The image I used for this card is perfect for single chaps, particularly for summer events. Who wouldn’t like to get a card of sitting on a deckchair just relaxing? The set also works perfectly with both Beautiful You and Wonderful Moments; guess what, it was designed by the same artist.
Although I kept to the Subtles Colour Family for most of the card, I did add some of the new InColor Scalloped Linen Ribbon in Seaside Spray. This ribbon is great for adding a little texture without making it too fussy. I added some Tear and Tape to the middle of a strip and then cut down the middle to form a ribbon sticker. So easy to add to the edge of a project. Take a look at today’s video to see exactly how this is done.
Oh, and did you notice the sequins? I know! Sequins on a masculine card! But these are perfect. They are from the Basic Adhesive Sequins pack and are a matt finish in Sahara Sand, so ideal for a little something for you masculine projects.
