Flip Down Jewellery Box Ferrero Rocher Treat Box. I may not be able to eat chocolate (shock, horror!! Someone can’t eat chocolate!), but I understand that many people do and that they like a Ferrero Rocher. I have a large box of these in my Craft Studio and as long as my husband doesn’t find them, they are pretty safe. It means that I can make little treat holders an not be tempted to eat the props!!
Today’s box is based on an antique jewellery box design. The original had a hinged lid and the front dropped down as you lifted the lid. My version has a removable lid and one flap that drops down when you remove the lid, exposing the treat inside. There are three elements to the box, but they are not difficult to put together, if you get the measurements right (you can find these at the bottom of the post).
My first box uses the Woven Thread Designer Series Paper and Terracotta Tile card. I chose a pattern that did not have an obvious one-way pattern, simply because it is easier to get it adhered correctly. I wanted to use a matching ribbon, but the only ones in the colours of the paper were the Scalloped Linen Ribbon, which is too wide for this project. No problem! I pulled out some of the Silver Edged Ribbon and the Dark Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blend to create perfectly matching ribbon.
The box I made on camera uses the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper on Pool Part card. I used the same trick to colour my ribbon. The sentiment is from A Wish For Everything. I think in the video I suggested that it was NOT a Bundle, but of course it is. I was confused because I use Well Said later in the week, which is not now a Bundle. This is a great reminder that if you love matching stamp and dies, buying them when they first appear in the catalogue will save you 10%.
Having chosen my sentiment I stamped it in matching ink and mounted on one of the scrap pieces of card from the box base. I used the Darling Label Punch from the Darling Label Punch Box. This is a great kit as it includes ink, stamps, a block and the punch, all in the cutest box. I hope you enjoy this little gift box. There is just enough time to make a few for Teachers Gifts (at least in Oxfordshire!).
