Welcome to Father’s Week – Come Sail Away with a Quick No Stamping Card. It is Father’s Day on Sunday 16th June, so I thought I should share some inspiration for Father’s Day projects. Am I alone in thinking that making cards for the men in our life is not easy? Unless they have a very definite hobby, it can be really difficult, but I hope that this week will give you some ideas at least.
I decided to start the week with a really simple card that takes only a few moments to make and, if you leave the inside blank, there is no stamping at all. This is a perfect project for the beginner who wants to give a handmade card to show just how loved their Father is. I have chosen to use the Come Sail Away Memories and More Card Pack from the new Annual Catalogue. It is full of amazing cards, many of which are PERFECT for card making. There are some laser cut piece and 4 sheets of stickers. So much to play with. Just add some Memories & More Note Cards and Envelopes and you are set to make lots of quick and easy cards.
There is even a Happy Father’s Day Card, so perfect for my Father’s Day week. I teamed it with a similar coloured card and added some Soft Suede mats, just a hair larger than the cards. Some Burlap Ribbon seemed perfect as an accent. I frayed the ends to give a bit more movement and then stuck it across the middle of the larger card. I added the smaller card over this with Dimensionals, remember not to place any Dimensionals where the ribbon will be.
For a final finishing touch, I coloured some Basic Pearls with the Dark Soft Suede Blend, these are a perfect accent for the card. Not too much, but just enough. And, OK, I did stamp in the inside of the card, using a stamp from the coordinating stamp set, Sailing Home, and some Soft Suede Ink. Typical that I should chose a ‘no stamping’ card to add a sentiment to the inside of a card!! And it all Coordinates with the Come Sail Away cards. In fact it is all part of the Come Sail Away Suite.
