Top Tip Tuesday – How do I CUT Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper?! Well, there are of course any number of answers to this question depending on exactly what you are asking. If you are wondering how anyone could bear to actually cut into the paper, well I am with you there! But if you mean ‘what is the best way to cut the paper’, then that is what this post is going to help you with.

Firstly, can we just take a step back and enjoy the actual paper. It is stunning. Even if it were not covered in wonderful shimmer, it would be an amazing pack of paper. But it IS covered in shimmer, and that makes a HUGE difference. There are two different designs of sheet. One is a full 12 x 12 pattern, but you could cut into it to pick out some of the really pretty florals. The other sheet is a ‘cut apart’ sheet and it is this that I concentrate on in the video.

There are 9 card fronts to cut apart, plus 2 border strips. The first cut needs to separate the 4 small squares, these can then either be separated now or as you use them. The next snip off the 2 border strips, and then it is a simple process to separate the 5 remaining pieces. Oh, and I should have mentioned that the papers are double sided. You get to choose matt white, or shimmer Very Vanilla. Why you would not use the shimmer side I don’t know, but it is your choice.
