Pretty Perennial Essence Gift Box. Last week I hope I showed you that the Pretty Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper is not just for women. Well, this week I have a very pretty box that would be perfect for both men or women. Just change the paper you use and it will be perfect for a Father’s Day gift.
But, I have made my boxes very pretty, and I love them both. They are very different, but that is the joy of paper craft, you can change just a few things and the result is very different.
I wanted a box that would use a piece of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, because that is what I cut my paper shares to (you can find full details of those HERE). A classic 4″ x 4″ x 2″ box seemed to be the answer. It all came together quickly and the addition of the flower stamped and punched from the Perennial Essence Vellum really set it off. I added a tag using a natty little trick so that the ribbon keeps everything in place, and is front and centre on the tag.
When you watch the video (you do watch the video don’t you?) you will see that I added the Designer Series Paper before I made the lid up. It is so much easier to stick paper to a flat piece of card, trust me on this. There is another little trick in the video to make sure that your lid always fits your box perfectly, every time. No need for extra pieces of card to act as a shim on your score board. This is just one of those ‘seriously, it is that simple!’ moments.
There have been a couple of comments on my videos recently suggesting that there is too much unnecessary chatter. I am sorry if my general ramblings are an irritation to anyone. My videos are shot ‘as live’, so I like to add a bit of general chatter to fill the silence. I personally don’t like to watch crafting videos that fast forward or cut out the ‘boring’ bit, so I keep it real and just chat away. When I am shooting my videos, I like to think that my viewers are enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and that we are almost having a conversation as I craft. I am very grateful to those of you who have jumped to my defence about this. I have no intention of changing my videos, so if you find my chatter annoying, please use the mute button, and watch in silence!
