Heat Embossing or Dry Embossing? How About BOTH! Today I am sharing my project for the new Inspire.Create.Challenge. The Theme is ‘Embossing’ but doesn’t specify whether this is Heat or Dry Embossing. Me being me, I have included both.
My inspiration for the card came from Pinterest, but sadly it is one of those pins that have no contact information. This means I am not able to tell you who made the original card. BUT I LOVE IT! It is such a great idea and is a great way to feature your embossing folders AND use up scraps of card. I cut nine 1″ x 1″ squares of Whisper White card and ran them through the embossing folders. I did try embossing and then cutting to size – bad idea. It is not easy to cut embossed card, the blades get confused by the height! As ever, I have listed the products I have used below. However, the new version of some of the Carryover folders are not currently available, so I listed the old versions.
The squares are adhered with Dimensionals to form a square towards the top of the card. This leaves a perfect space for the sentiment to nestle at the bottom of the mat, heat embossed in gold. The mat is then added to a Thick Whisper White card base. The result is a clean and simple card with some added punch.
I chose one of the sentiments from the new Daisy Lane stamp set, it seemed just right to use for a ‘pop’, and is not too large. As you may know, I am loving this new stamp set and have a promotion until 22nd July. If you buy the stamp set, either on its own or as part of the Bundle with the Medium Daisy Punch, I will gift you a pack of Gold Faceted Gems, the perfect centre for your Daisy.
