Golden Daisy Lane – A Match Made in Heaven. I last used the Daisy Lane stamp set for a #Simplestamping Saturday project. This was before I had received my Medium Daisy Punch, which you can buy with the stamp set as a Bundle, saving 10% on the total cost. But I now have both the punch and the stamps, so I had to share another project with you.
Having both the Large and Medium Daisy Punches saves so much time. No more fussy cutting! No, don’t get me wrong, I quite enjoy fussy cutting, but if you don’t need to, then I am OK with that too.
This project is deceptively simple, I have only used 3 ink pads, including the Versamark for the embossing. The Old Olive of the stalk is stamped in full strength, but the ferns are in 2nd generation, so they blend in well, but are not too overpowering.
On the sample card I made I used Tuxedo Black for the sentiment, but it struck me as being too bold, clashing slightly with the Old Olive and Gold. With this in mind, when I made the card for the video, I sued Early Espresso ink instead. Can you tell the difference in the photos? I hope so, but if not, trust me when I say that in real life, they are really quite different. The Early Espresso sits much better for me. Do you agree? This is a personal thing, so you may find that the Black is better for you.
I stamped, and embossed in Gold, two of each of the Daisy images. It is worth remembering when you stamp these, that the petals on both punches run ‘north and south’, so stamping in the same direction makes punching much easier. I simply layered the Daisy images up ad then added a large Gold Faceted Gem, the perfect centre for the Daisy. Remember that if you order either the Daisy Lane stamp set or the Daisy Lane Bundle from me before 22nd July, I will gift you a pack of the Gold Faceted Gems as an additional ‘Thank You’.
To add to the opulence of the card, I mounted the Daisy layer onto a mat of Gold Foil. Don’t worry, I ‘gutted’ it so that I saved a large piece to use on another project. Confused by my reference to ‘gutting’? Take a look at the video to see what I mean.
That’s it! A simple project as I promised. As long as you have heat embossing in your arsenal of techniques, this is a really simple project, but it packs a punch!
