Top Tip Tuesday – I am going A Little Wild. Did you see my post yesterday? I mentioned that I was starting a fortnight of Casing the Catalogue. I also said I would let you have more details of this today. Why? Because this is my Top Tip for this week. Let’s start by explaining CASE for those who may not understand this. It is as simple as taking inspiration from the catalogue, or anywhere else. You Copy And Share Everything and the only ‘rule’ is to credit the original designer.
The catalogue is such a great resource, particularly when your creativity is taking a little holiday. We all have days like that, so it is great to know there is somewhere to go to find inspiration. The real plus of the catalogue is that there are a FEW suggestions, rather than the hundreds and thousands that you find on Pinterest. Is it just me who can spend a day looking at all the pretty things, but getting nothing actually done?
The A Little Wild stamp set is featured on pages 84 and 85 of the 2018-19 catalogue and I have taken my inspiration from the tags on page 84. In fact I have almost lifted them in their entirety. For the little elephant I only changed a couple of very small details, because I love it as it is, so why change it?
When I came to make the little lion tag I decided to use Lemon Lime Twist card and ink. This really makes the lion ‘pop’ out of the tag, and uses up some of my Lemon Lime Twist card while it is still with us. You do know that we are loosing Lemon Lime Twist in under a month, don’t you? If you love it as much as I do, now is the time to stock up on it; once it has sold out, it will be gone for ever!
I have another quick tip for you today. This is something I learnt at the recent OnStage event. If you touch the nib of a lighter shade of Stampin Blend to the nib of a darker shade you get some really easy shading. Take a look at the video to see how I used this for the lion.
The tags are so quick and easy to make, and are a great addition to any gift be that for a little one or a little one at heart. Please remember that neither the A Little Wild stamps or Little Loves dies will be in the new Annual Catalogue, so please don’t miss out on getting them while you still can. Grab them NOW!
