#Simplestamping Saturday – Jar of Love Waves Goodbye. It seems right that I should use Jar of Love for today’s #simplestamping Saturday. It is a set I ordered as part of my Starter Kit, almost three years ago. This is the perfect set for all levels of crafter. If ever there was a set made to grow with you, this is it.
My Quick/Simple card does use 4 ink colours, which is more than I would normally use on a #simplestamping project, but the extra one is worth it! I am introducing the concept of second generation stamping on this card. This technique is a great way of adding more colour options to your stash, just by stamping the ink off. Simple. Of course, I used one of our Note Cards and Envelopes – do you like the fish in the small jar on the envelope?
The next card adds some punching and fussy cutting. I used the largest jar to help fill the space. The stamping is the same, but I stamped the flowers on a separate scrap of card and fussy cut the large ones, punching the smaller ones. And of course, I had to add some sequins to the centre of the flowers and around the sentiment.
The final card introduces the matching dies. There are so many dies in the pack, and one cuts the centre of the largest jar, so you can make a shaker card. Of course, I had to do exactly that. It is pretty much the only difference between this card and the previous card. I used Vellum for the jar itself so I got that great frosted look. I added metallic sequins, which are retiring, for the shaker elements, and die cut the flowers. Other than this, the card really is the same.
Don’t you love how you can take one simple card design and just keep stepping it up by adding the smallest changes?
