#Simplestamping Saturday – Artistically Asian. Yes, its that time of the week again, and I am still loving bringing you these projects. One design going from quick and simple to casual and then avid. ‘Stamps, ink and paper’ through to ‘use everything you have in your stash’. Projects that grow as your stash and confidence increases. If you have been enjoying the ‘quick and simple’ for a few weeks, why not have a go at the ‘Casual’ one this time? And today is also the last day of CASE the Catalogue fortnight, so that is exactly what I have done. I have used the image on page 135. This is the Avid card, so I have pared it right back for the other two.
#Simplestamping – Quick and Simple
The quick and simple version uses just 3 stamps and 3 ink pads. I stamped the bamboo in Old Olive using both first and second generation ink (stamp once and then stamp again without re-inking!) The sentiment is in Soft Suede and the Chinese characters are in Pacific Point. You can change the colours for whatever you have in your stash, or even just use one colour for the whole card. As ever with the quick and simple version, I have stamped the envelope – we don’t like naked envelopes! All this is done on a Whisper White Note Card and Envelope.
The casual version is on coloured card, in this case I used Balmy Blue and Pacific Point for the main elements and Whisper White and Crumb Cake for the stamping. The stamping is exactly the same as on the quick and simple version, but I added the Crumb Cake card for the sentiment and then just adhered it to the Whisper White. Adding the Pacific Point banner between the card base and the stamped piece adds a great element to the card. A few rhinestones finished the card off nicely.
The avid card is a straight lift from the catalogue. I punched a 2″ circle in some scrap paper and, using a sponge dauber, added some Crushed Curry ink to the Whisper White. The bamboo is stamped over this. I added the Burlap Ribbon behind the sentiment, having frayed the ends first (use Tear and Tape to adhere this). For the background I flicked Pacific Point ink on the card base using a Stampin’ Write Marker. And here’s a secret, I was running low on scraps of Pacific Point, so I cut two small pieces for the flag and just stuck them in line on the back of the Whisper White. A great way to literally stretch your stash!
The Artistically Asian Stamp set is NOT in the new Annual Catalogue, so if you want it, grab it NOW.
