Artistically Asian Masked Card – Don’t Miss Out. Why do I say ‘Don’t Miss Out’? Because this is one of the stamp sets that will not be in the new Annual Catalogue. I have teamed it with another stamp that is going, the Hardwood background stamp, which is a favourite of mine, so for a while I will be sad to see it go. I am realistic about the fact that once I have new ‘toys’ to play with I will forget the old ones. We are all children at heart with our craft supplies aren’t we? Or is it just me?
Happily for me, I have already been able to order some new goodies because I attended the Demonstrator only event, OnStage, last month. These events are an opportunity to catch up with old friends, be inspired by them, recognise each other’s achievements, and (possibly the highlight) see the new catalogue and products. We even get to take some of the new products home with us! The next event is in November in Germany and will be amazing, would you like to join me there? Just drop me an email to find out more.
Back to my card for today. I have used a simple masking technique for this single layer card. The mask is cut from an old piece of grid paper (you could use copier paper too) to lay over the front of my card before stamping with both the Hardwood (using Sahara Sand) and the bamboo image from Artistically Asian (using Mossy Meadow). The sentiment is stamped once the mask has been removed so it is partly outside the masked area.
The first card I made used Old Olive in place of the Mossy Meadow ink, but I wanted more of a contrast between the background and the bamboo image. Using Mossy Meadow gave me the look I was after.
