#Simplestamping Saturday – Just Because. I really hope that you guys are enjoying this series as much as I am. I am really enjoying the challenge of looking at my crafty stash in a different way so I can bring you a range of projects using the same basic concept and many of the same supplies. WOW, that was a long sentence with no punctuation!
Today I am using what may seem like a strange stamp set for a new stamper. I am using one of the Host Sets from the Spring/Summer Catalogue. Why? Because these are basically free because you can only get one with Host Rewards. My theory is that if you know someone who might enjoy stamping, you could gift them this set, because it cost you nothing. The ‘Just Because’ set is perfect for new stampers because it has great graphics and sentiments. Many of the sentiments are attached, so you only have to ink up and stamp once. Quick and easy.
The #Simplestamping project is on a Whisper White Note Card and stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I have coloured the image using Old Olive and Early Espresso Watercolour pencils. The colour has been ‘moved about’ with a Blender Pen. These are perfect for using with Watercolour pencils, as well as Classic Inks. I think they are perfect for new crafters because they can be used for so many effects. Of course because this is a #Simplestamping project, I have stamped the envelope too.
The Casual version of the card is on a standard A6 card base with a Lemon Lime Twist mat. I used Stampin’ Write Markers for the colouring. To tie in with the mat, I used Lemon Lime Twist for the leaves. The jar is in Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand. Now, I have to admit that the Avid version has a bit more ‘bling’ on it than I had planned (watch the video for more on that!) The stamping for this is Stazon on watercolour paper and I coloured with Berry Burst and Tranquil Tide Classic Ink, using an Aqua Painters. The mat is Berry Burst and the card base is Tranquil Tide.
